We encourage all members of Ascension Church to engage with the Bible on a regular basis, as part of their growth as Christians. This can be done in a number of ways; reading or even listening at home, or at work, or on the way to work. However, what we find really helps is when we come together to share in this experience. 

 

A group meets every Wednesday at 7.30pm - 9.00pm on Zoom to explore what God is saying to us through the Bible.

-Isaiah 6, 1-4
•What does the imagery suggest to you?
•In what way is Isaiah’s reaction related to it?
•What elements in the passage point to the holiness of God?

-Ezekiel 1, 4 – 9; 15-18; 26-28
•What does the imagery suggest to you?
•In what way is Ezekiel’s reaction related to it?
•Has the imagery clarified your vision of God or made it harder to understand?
•Are you meant to be able to understand it?

-Revelation 4 1-9
•What does the imagery suggest to you?
The faces of the four beasts are the same as the four faces of each of Ezekiel’s creatures: A lion, An Ox, a man and an Eagle.
•What characteristics do these suggest?
•What is the relevance of them surrounding the throne?

-Finishing thoughts: Isaiah 55 v 8-9
